A beautiful silver ring designed by Björn Weckström for the Finnish brand Lapponia. In 1969, the first human landed on the moon, and inspired by this, Björn Weckström designed a series of science fiction-style jewelry for Lapponia (Space Silver), with the idea that these pieces could still be worn hundreds of years from now, perhaps on other planets. The design of this ring is called Pluto, and these rings were made in the 1970s and 1980s. Pluto is a dwarf planet and one of the larger members of the Kuiper Belt, a family of icy worlds in space beyond Neptune. The design of this ring is also reminiscent of glaciers.
