Mother-of-Pearl Coin Purse (ca. 1900–1930)

Oval coin purse with a single mother-of-pearl panel set in a silver-toned frame. Opens and closes with a firm, precise click. Inside, the original blue silk lining shows age and wear — intact, but visibly lived-in, which suits the piece.

This type of object is commonly referred to as a mother-of-pearl coin purse or miniature MOP minaudière. Most examples with this construction and materials date from the Edwardian to early Art Deco period (early 20th century).
